Led a department consisting of 165 employees and administered a $28 million budget. Worked closely with the Office of the Mayor, Board of Supervisors, aging and disabled service providers, consumers and stakeholders in shaping and implementing the department's vision, mission and goals.Partnered extensively with a network of other counties and states to lobby for changes in reimbursement of community based long term care services. Directed staff in developing legislative proposals. Developed and implemented a city-wide initiative and campaign, Living with Dignity, to improve service delivery to the aging and disabled populations through the use of technology and collaborative cross sector efforts.

Recruited to transition the field office from a centralized regional office to multiple state offices in order to achieve the goal of enhancing AARP's presence at the local level. Represented AARP throughout the ten state region and provided leadership in the development of plans, programs and strategies to further the organization's goals and objectives. Supervised regional staff, including IT, human resources, program staff and State Directors. Oversaw the development of regional campaigns.

Grew resources of the department overall from $3 million to over $18 million.
