Served as the first-ever intern for the grassroots 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, The Immigrant Justice Coalition of Watauga County, whose mission is to seek empowerment through education, cultural exchange, and access to resources to achieve and defend equity and social justice for the immigrant and immigration-affected community.Identified social policies at the local, state, and federal level that impacts well-being, service delivery, and access to social services of the migrant community and their loved ones. Creatively designed and created visually and algorithmically attractive social media content that amplifies and and all current matter that affect the immigration-affected communities of Watauga County, North Carolina and surrounding communities.Worked to organize, campaign and host events that highlight the diversity of the High Country immigrant communities as well as provide visibility, through celebration, fundraising and advocacy.

Provided peer mentorship and guidance to incoming and/or continuing students within a residence hall (40-60 residents) of Appalachian State University and served as a front-line University Housing Staff Member. Assisted with the personal and academic concerns of students, mediate interpersonal conflicts, and serve as an information resource for residents.

AsULead is a program for a diverse group of students who are emerging leaders in their schools and communities. Students who become part of our AsULead cohort will have the opportunity to participate in a four day in-person summer session focusing on community building opportunities, leadership development training, and overall college preparedness. AsULead also includes a virtual component over the course of the students’ senior year to continue discussing the importance of college and give students access to resources they may not otherwise learn about.

Served as a student representative for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions of Appalachian State University through telecommunication received by inquiring prospective and/or current students and family members interested in attending the institution.Also served as one of the few Spanish-speaking representatives receiving frequent inquiries from bilingual, Latine, and immigration-affected families whilst also completing information translation, and presenting admissions presentations in Spanish under the supervision of the Hispanic/Latine Undergraduate Recruiter.
