During my time with the Henry Walser Funeral Home I was responsible for a variety of administrative and design tasks. On a daily basis I would answer phones, prepare and complete government paperwork and support families with filling out required forms. I would assist the Funeral Directors with editing obituaries and sending them to the newspaper for publishing. I was also responsible for many design tasks including: editing portraits using Photoshop, creating custom stationary (memorial cards, orders of service, guest books, etc) for families, preparing slideshows for services and updating the website with current obituaries and memorial pages. I would also assist families whenever possible, which meant constant communication with various members of the community, florists, clergy and media. Due to the sensitive nature of the position, quality assurance was of the upmost importance. All tasks were extremely time sensitive and required extreme vigilance that information and details were correct.

Bimbo Bakeries made the decision in 2016 to streamline their pricing by making a switch to a centralized pricing program. In my most recent position with Food Service Ontario/Bimbo Bakeries USA I pulled data from Bimbo’s AS400 system and analyzed it to make suggestions on how to more efficiently and effectively consolidate information and make a clean transition to central pricing. I worked heavily in Excel daily, utilizing various formulas and pivot tables. I was responsible for hosting national conference calls to walk our account executives through the conversion, as well as participate in weekly roll-out calls with senior management to report conversion status. Once a “rollout” or one piece of the transition was successfully completed, I was also responsible for training account executives and troubleshooting any problems or questions.

As a customer maintenance associate, I worked very closely with our regional sales department to create and maintain client profiles in the company’s database. I was responsible for continuously monitoring numerous outlets for prompt assistance to any new requests to ensure proper and up to date information was reflected in the system. Working under tight deadlines, I had to troubleshoot system problems to guarantee customers continued to receive flawless service from the company. In this role I also successfully trained several new employees, and was responsible for auditing their work for quality assurance.

I was initially hired when Bimbo Bakeries acquired Sara Lee to assist in migrating all the pricing in the Sara Lee database to the AS400 system. I was rapidly promoted to a pricing lead, and became the key contact for several regions of the conversion. On a daily basis I was responsible for creating pricing spreadsheets by working heavily in Microsoft Excel. I delegated data entry work to Conversion Associates, and conducted frequent audits for quality assurance. In addition I was expected to address any pricing queries or conflicts that arose. I also participated in several weekly nation-wide conference calls to report conversion progress.

As Social Media Director I worked remotely for the clinic, finding new and interesting content to update the website/Facebook/Twitter pages daily. I regularly ran contests to engage clientele and encourage their online participation on our pages. I quickly and efficiently handled any customer service inquiries submitted online. I frequently confirmed we were maintaining optimum search engine results.

As a receptionist at Milliken Bridlewood Animal Clinic I was responsible for preparing daily client files and organizing them accordingly. I also managed both electronic and hardcopy client data bases. I greeted clients and notified the doctor of their arrival. I scheduled appointments, as well as surgeries and performed follow up courtesy calls as required. I was expected to ensure client accounts were in good standing and prepared collection forms as necessary. I prepared and typed client and supplier correspondence and received the daily mail and laboratory results. I was also responsible for ordering, maintaining and unpacking the daily inventory and office supplies.

At St. Francis Animal Clinic I was responsible for answering the phones and dealing with client inquires, as well as scheduling appointments and surgeries for patients. I also contacted clients via telephone and e-mail to confirm appointments and perform courtesy follow ups. I was responsible for preparing monthly vaccine reminders as well as yearly heartworm reminders. I monitored all transactions weekly for quality assurance and auditing purposes. When the opportunity arose, I also completely redesigned the clinic’s website and introduced them to social media for the first time.
