I have been working as a nurse since 2001, training in the UK, and qualifying as an RN in 2006. I spent the next 11 years working in the hospital environment, focusing on acute medical roles. I have a broad range of experience having worked in ICU, ED and rapid medical assessment , Cardiac, and cardiothoracics, AODS and renal and dialysis From 2017 to 2020 I transferred to focus on a role within the community, as a practice nurse working with clients who were or at risk of being homeless, assisting with the personal battles of trauma which could lead to struggles with mental health and/ or use of AOD Since August 2020, I have been employed as an integrated hepatitis C CNC, my job role allowed me to engage with people and go on their hepatitis journey with them, either as an inpatient or at one of my outreach clinics. in 2022 I relocated to Mackay to work with the AODS team, both from a counselling and opiate replacement programme prospective My skill portfolio includes:- Patient advocate and health educator.- Delivery of culturally sensitive care-
