I travel to and from different business, and corporations conducting health screenings that are offered from different health insurance companies. In these screenings, we check the patients height, weight, their BMI, blood pressure, and we also do a non fasting/fasting lipid panel check that provides the patient with their cholesterol readings, and we also check their blood glucose levels. These tests are preformed as a point of care testing so the patients are able to get their results with in 3-5 mins. Once the results of everything have been recorded we help educate the patient about their values and help them to better understand the importance of their values.

Collect, receive, and process in-patient and out-patient specimens for testing. Communicate with nurses and physicians regarding patient specimens. Refer specimens to outside laboratories. Perform phlebotomy procedures. Collect blood samples to ensure proper patient identification and labeling of samples and deliver to the laboratory in a timely manner. Follow hospital policies and procedures for transporting/ delivering samples. Maintain strict quality control and follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment. Perform special tests as needed; such as: clotting time, bleeding time, and glucose tolerance tests and report test results. Receive patient samples and determine suitability. Centrifuge whole blood for component preparation. Pool platelets, cryoprecipitate and plasma for patient needs. Prepare and issue fresh frozen plasma, cryo poor plasma, and recovered plasma; pedi-plasma, Kiddi-packs, platelets, platelet pheresis. Divide components and issue as needed. Proper disposal of all lab components; including biohazard. Issue blood and blood components for patient needs. Return unused blood/blood components and determine suitability of returns. Prepare and maintain patient files and laboratory records. Perform component inventory recall and inventory lookback.
