My introduction to administration and finance began with 13 years in the Canadian Armed Forces where I served all needs of my peers and the organization honorably. I was awarded two Commander's Commendations, Deserving Serviceman Trip around the world and the Canadian Decoration Medal. I was known for my "can do" attitude, commitment to duty, trustworthiness and constant outstanding results in all I did.After I left the forces I opened and managed a business in Barrie, Ontario for 9 years before re-locating to the Quinte area, where I still reside.In 2012 I was given the opportunity to update my skills through Veteran's Affairs. I chose to take the 2 year accounting program and graduated in 2014. I was chosen as course president by my classmates and made the Dean's List with distinction.It took a couple of months to find a job. I was successful in securing the Bookkeeper/Office Manager position at a local winery. The experience and knowledge I have gained at this job has greatly expanded my accounting skills and product knowledge of wine and farming.
