Develops written course objectives, establishes learning methods and delivers the clinical laboratory lectures and hands-on assignments. Enforces clinical education policies and procedures and Programmatic Accreditation requirements. Evaluates the students’ clinical performance and competency. Maintains an in-depth knowledge of techniques and principles in the field of education and radiation therapy.

The ASRT chairman of the Board serves for a term of one year following service as ASRT president. The primary duties of the chairman of the Board are to manage the ASRT Board of Directors, conduct meetings of the ASRT Board of Directors, serve as the official spokesperson for the ASRT Board of Directors, serve as a member of the ASRT-PAC Board, serve as ASRT Board liaison to the ASRT Education and Research Foundation Board of Trustees, and serve as Board liaison for the ASRT CEO.

Governed the department’s radiation therapy services overall operations, administration, personnel, and business office functions from a multi-site perspective. Responsible for the financial and operational performance of the department’s therapy services. Prepared and maintained operating budget. Management of human resource activities, provided supervision of overall operations by organization of patient flow, organization of scheduling practices, managed care initiatives, customer satisfaction, and maintenance of standards of practice and competency. Managed the oversight of multiple radiation therapy locations including main campus, ambulatory clinic, proton center, 5 satellite centers with over 120 employees. Assisted with accrediation, regulatory bodies and compliance.Clinical quality management responsibilities for partner locations in Arizona, New Mexico, New Jersey, Florida, Madrid Spain, and Istanbul Turkey. Monitored continuous quality improvement programs, created the radiation therapy chart check form, reviewed, and often complied and populated quality indicator score cards.

Coordinated all patient care activities. Ensured that patient scheduling, treatments, record keeping, and machine functions were maintained at an optimal level. Supervised, coordinated and recorded shift assignments. Performed new employee orientations, training, performance evaluations, and competency assessments and recommended disciplinary actions. Made recommendations for recruitment and retention of staff. Assisted Director and Chief physicist with the timely and accurate dissemination of departmental and institutional policies, procedures, billing, data and information. Participated in departmental strategic planning and implemented associated programming. Responsible for the design, execution and effectiveness of a system of internal controls.
