As Communications Specialist with the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, I was the digital and social media lead and managed all content creation across online platforms.I worked on ongoing crisis communications surrounding issues of public health and national importance like Brexit and Covid-19 and was committed to a whole-of-government collaborative approach.I was responsible for creating, planning and scheduling all digital content - both daily output and long-term campaigns. Editing and maintaining the Irish Daily Mail newspaper and responsible for daily running of newsroom and management of staff and budgets.Duties include spotting stories and compiling news lists; briefing reporters; tracking down freelancers worldwide to work on breaking news; and editing copy for the daily deadline.
