Currently serving as a Physical Therapy Officer in the United States Army. Graduated from the U.S. Army-Barloy Doctoral Program of Physical Therapy (August 2024).

I coached CrossFit classes that included a wide range of athletes. Each class consisted of a structured warm-up, coaching on how to properly perform all movements in the workout, and a workout specific cool-down. Guiding athletes to improve in various aspects of life, not just in the gym, is the best reward as a coach. In addition to coaching classes, I was also a nutrition coach. I provided accountability, motivation, and support for my clients to optimize their performance.

Upon completing my Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) position with the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership, I continue to work with them as a volunteer. My main role is to educate the new student in the GRA about the daily, weekly, and monthly tasks and responsibilities. I also co-manage the Free Fitness Program with the new GRA student.

As the Graduate Assistant for the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership (ABP), I coordinate the free fitness program. Before COVID-19, the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership was the largest free fitness class provider in the Atlanta area. In response to COVID-19, we transitioned our program to virtual classes only. I am responsible for collecting fitness class videos from our instructors to upload to the BeltLine website (BeltLine.org). With the help of the ABP team, I created our first virtual health lecture series. We partnered with professionals from Georgia State University to provide free 30-minute health and wellness-based seminars. In addition to managing ABP's free fitness program, I also conduct research with my advisor from GSU, Dr. Ellis. Our research intends to help the Atlanta BeltLine improve its impact within the Atlanta community.

Desire2Move (D2M) is an 8-week eHealth team-based physical activity program for GSU employees that is offered annually during the spring semester. As the Assistant Program Coordinator, I assisted the program coordinator, Dr. Ellis, with all aspects of program implementation including (a) abstract preparation from previous year’s program, (b) program planning, (c) training student liaisons, (d) training health coaches and serving as a health coach, (e) participant recruitment, and (f) managing week-to-week operations during the 8-week program.

Desire2Move (D2M) is a university-wide physical activity competition and research project created by Dr. Ellis from Georgia State University's (GSU) Kinesiology and Health Department. As a research fellow for D2M, I coordinated and executed fitness assessments and health coaching sessions for beginners in the program. I was also a Team Liaison for 4 teams which entailed logging data, troubleshooting technical issues, and answering participant questions. Once the program ended, I prepared data to be analyzed and assisted in analyzing the data.

I instruct group functional fitness classes to a variety of clients. Each class includes a structured warm-up, instruction on how to properly perform all movements in the workout, and a cool-down. I coach all ages and genders. Helping clients improve in and outside of the gym is the best reward as a coach.

I observded classes 2x a day/2x a week in order to see the transition from class to class and see how coaches change depending on the athletes. I led warm-ups, prepped the workout area, and demonstrated movements to athletes.

I shadowed coaches, created warm-ups and cooldowns, prepped the workout area, and coached classes with and without supervision.
