As a dedicated Biological Field Technician, I am passionate about exploring and preserving the natural world through hands-on field work. Currently, I conduct surveys for raptors, songbirds, big game, and other protected species across several ongoing projects at proposed wind farm sites. This role is crucial in ensuring that developmental projects align with environmental conservation standards and regulations. My expertise involves navigating remote and often challenging terrain using GPS, compasses, and topographic maps. I am adept at managing potential hazards, such as dense vegetation, dangerous wildlife, extreme temperatures, and severe weather conditions. In addition to my core responsibilities, I conduct a variety of other field tasks including the set-up, maintenance, and deconstruction of bat acoustic monitoring stations, aerial and ground-based raptor nest surveys, construction site biological monitoring, standardized carcass monitoring and bias trials on wind farms, trail camera set-up and maintenance, and reading tracks and sign of key species.I am proud to have been recognized with a Safety Recognition Award for exemplary field practices, demonstrating my commitment to maintaining high standards in both safety and environmental stewardship. My ability to adapt survey schedules to unpredictable weather and maintain effective communication with team leaders and peers ensures timely and accurate project results.I welcome the opportunity to connect with fellow professionals in conservation and wildlife management.
