• Teaches English to Grades 6, 7, & 8, along with 8th Grade Creative Writing. Designs and prepares dynamic and interactive lessons to strengthen and engage students in the areas of literature, vocabulary, grammar, and composition. • Teaches Public Speaking to 7th Grade and leads the 8th Grade Speeches program. Designs and implements a program that explores the techniques of rhetoric, storytelling, and debate. Works to arm students with the techniques that will enable them to effectively present their ideas with confidence and charisma.• Directs theatre productions of the school. Organizes and directs the entire script perusal, audition, rehearsal, and performance process. Coordinates artistic design team and parent volunteers. Mentors student tech and stage crew.• Advises a core group of seven students over the course of three years, providing academic and social support. Liaises with parents to cultivate communication and understanding regarding each student’s progress both inside and outside the classroom.

• Designed and will instruct three-week course, Crafting the Essay, in Summer 2017. Through textual analysis, discussion, and writing workshops, students explore and hone the craft of personal essay writing.• Co-taught Writing Seminar as part of the Family Academic Program’s Discovery Series. Middle School students, along with parents, learned about the elements of writing, drafted new creative works, and engaged in critical workshops. • Designed and instructed three-week course, The Critical Essay: Literature and the Arts. Students approached literature and the fine arts as texts to be read critically, exploring art forms as diverse as painting, poetry, fiction, photography, film, and classical music. Students developed a language for writing about the arts and completed essays that interpreted, analyzed, and compared aesthetic texts. Workshops were conducted on effective writing strategies, including building effective arguments, integrating quotations and evidence, strengthening transitions, and polishing language and style.• Monitored the progress of each student by completing pre- and post-assessments, reviewing observation notes with the teaching assistant, providing detailed feedback on written work, as well as composing thorough student evaluations. • Supervised and collaborated with an assigned teaching assistant. Worked to support the TA’s growth as an educator, providing opportunities to lead classroom discussions, design lesson plans, and practice the assessment process.

• Provides marketing and administrative support for STC Education’s revenue producing programs, including Camp Shakespeare, Artists in the Classroom, Master Acting Classes, and Professional Development. • Creates, budgets, and implements marketing strategies for each program, which includes email campaigns, print and digital advertising, brochure design and distribution, and community engagement. • Assists the Training Programs Manager to develop and program courses, strategizing curriculum tracks and class offerings that most effectively benefit, enrich, and engage STC’s acting students.

• Tutored students in exam preparation, writing skills, and reading comprehension. Worked within an established curriculum to improve students’ test-taking abilities as well as the organization, mechanics, and creativity of effective writing.

• Led workshops on Shakespeare’s world, text, and performance in STC’s in-school and after-school programs; taught in diverse classroom environments throughout the DC area, including public schools, private schools, and ESOL classes. • Participated and assisted in leading professional development workshops for teachers.• Completed research projects to supplement education programs such as the Lessons in Leadership Symposium and the Youth and Family Series. • Initiated and coordinated the 3rd Annual Internship Fair for the Arts.
