My role is to strengthen the abilities, expertise, and knowledge of nonprofit organizations across the country to help them achieve their missions and deepen their impact.

My role is to empower nonprofits to thrive so that the communities they serve can thrive. I do this through hands-on strategic planning, facilitation, strengths-based team building, board development, leadership coaching, capacity building, and more. At the heart of my career is a commitment to serving nonprofit leaders, and I work as a partner to design savvy solutions that best fit their specific needs, strengths, and resources.

I teach Managing Performing Arts Organizations to 2nd and 3rd year graduate students in Goucher's MA in Arts Administration Program each fall. In the spring, I teach a Nonprofit Management course for upper level undergraduate business students.

As founder and principal consultant, I worked hand-in-hand with arts and other nonprofit organizations on strategic and operational planning, organizational identity building, patron and audience cultivation, board development, and staff team building. I worked with individuals as a coach and guide, facilitating their professional development and career progress as arts and nonprofit administrators. As a single-member LLC, I also strategized for and executed all business development, creating successful proposals and generating all operational funds through high-touch, trust and relationship-based client cultivation. Among my favorite work was guiding organizations in development of their organizational identity, including mission, vision, and values. Recognizing both the service mandate and resource constraints on nonprofits, I designed and facilitated inclusive strategic and operational planning processes customized to meet capacity and priorities. And, in working to improve governance, I designed and implemented capacity building trainings, new resources, and fresh infrastructure for boards of directors. In addition to my consulting work, I served as a speaker providing professional development on the local, regional, and national level.

I collaborated with MBK Analytics to win and complete two research contracts for the National Endowment for the Arts. The first resulted in the publication "When Going Gets Tough: Barriers and Motivations Affecting Arts Attendance" in January 2015. The second included the research, survey development, and pilot testing of the 2017 Survey of Public Participation in the Arts.

From programming and contract negotiations to creating on-and-off campus audiences; from faculty buy-in to artist hospitality; from front-of-house to backline; from budget management to personnel training; from PR and marketing to CRM launches and upgrades... I ran all aspects of an inherited professional concert series and successfully launched a second series for the Amherst College department of music, in addition to producing all student ensemble events.
