Sara has 25+ years of experience in education, in formal and informal settings, in secondary and higher education, face-to-face and online. Sara is a founding fellow of Forward College, where she was Head of Teaching and Learning Enhancement, with responsibilities including turning Forward College's vision into a concrete pedagogical approach. She is a Fellow of Advance HE Connect, UK, and has previously held positions at King’s College London and Goldsmiths College in London, UK.Sara developed a highly engaging, accessible, yet deep and rigorous fully online module for the University of London BSc Computer Science (hosted by Coursera). Face-to-face, Sara pioneered group-work for mathematics for computer science at Goldsmiths, active learning and cooperative learning strategies for King’s International Foundation. Sara was Clothworkers’ Fellow in Mathematics at the Royal Institution of Great Britain, responsible for running the UK-wide Mathematics Masterclasses network. A pure mathematician by training, Sara has been a lecturer, a school teacher, as well as a street performer, using maths, engineering and science to make people stop, have fun and think.Sara’s research interests include embedding effective learning strategies in teaching and learning and group work in HE.
