Even from an early age, I always knew I wanted to have a career that resulted in helping people. As I've grown older, my interests and aspirations have changed, moving from becoming an astronaut to president to artist and then finally to engineer, but I have always had the same want to help people and better my community.Currently, as a First Year Engineering student at Purdue University, I am working to become a civil engineer and hope to be able to help the community in ways such as connecting people and preserving the environment.In high school, I participated in many activities which taught me how to manage my time and work effectively with a team. Because engineering is a profession where good communication is necessary, I believe that my past involvements have prepared me to be able to work well and efficiently with a team.Outside of professional and academic settings, I love to be outdoors. Being outside often has given me a great appreciation for nature and a passion for the environment. I hope that in the future I will be able to use my knowledge of engineering to protect the environment for future generations to come.
