My career in education started at Lakeview Community Schools and has changed over the years from novice to novice...always learning in each new position. As a 1984 graduate of Lakeview High School, I was thrilled to come back to Lakeview and begin my teaching career in 1989. I have spent every year of my career working with the state and federal programs, which has evolved to working as a teacher to a principal, and district level administrator in all areas of school operations.In March of 2012, I transition districts to Belding Area Schools as the Director of Instruction and Technology, and six months later, Superintendent.On June 30, 2016, I officially retired as the Superintendent of Belding Area Schools. I have continued my work with MAS/FPS, as I will never grow tired of supporting local districts with work related to State and Federal Programs. Started role of Executive Director in July of 2019.In August of 2016, I was recruited by the Michigan Association of School Administrators (MASA) to join the team of School ADvance trainers and thoroughly enjoy networking and leading Boards, Superintendents, and District/Building leaders through the training.2017-2018 also proved to be another learning curve for me, as I was asked to contract with MDE as a consultant to review district plans and applications for their federal funds. 2018-2019 added a new set of opportunities for me! The folks at MEMSPA asked me to develop some micro-credentialing courses for aspiring administrators with the staff at Michigan Virtual. The folks at Munetrix also requested support with developing comprehensive needs assessment reports to assist their districts in making this task so much more efficient.2019-Present: Consulting with over 30 school districts/ISD's to support their work around program the continuous improvement process and state and federal programs is the most rewarding job!Advice: Love your work and never stop learning.
