My career in education started at Lakeview Community Schools and has changed over the last 25 years drastically. As a 1984 graduate of Lakeview High School, I was thrilled to come back to Lakeview and begin my teaching career in 1989. I have spent all 23 years of my career working with the Title I program which has evolved to working as a district level administrator in areas such as State and Federal Programs, Curriculum, Food Service, Professional Development, Assessments, School Improvement, USF Funding, Homeless, and much more.My last two years at Lakeview I added the pleasure of becoming the early childhood principal for the district with an incredibly dedicated staff.In March of 2012, I was recruited to transition districts to Belding Area Schools as the Director of Instruction and Technology. Three months later I was asked to be the Interim Superintendent. Four months later I was asked to be the Superintendent. Never ever thought this was a path I would take, but with family, friends, and faith...here we are.

For many years in my career I have been a member of MAS/FPS. This is the only State organization who assist educators by providing professional learning opportunities regarding State and Federal Program Compliance.I was fortunate enough to be elected as the Congressional Representative for Region 4. I have also served as President, and in 2005, I became the organization's Executive Secretary. I assist the annual President in conducting the organization's business.

In 2005 I began contracting with school districts to assist with State and Federal Program planning, implementation, and evaluation. I also assist in the school improvement process at both the district and school levels. I became a Schoolwide Facilitator trainer for the Michigan Department of Education. I assist in the training of Schoolwide facilitators across the State who also go out and train schools in State and Federal compliance requirements.When I retire, I plan to continue consulting with educational entities, as well as business organizations in improvement planning, grant writing, and program/business evaluation strategies.
