Job Purpose: The purpose of the Walkabout Discipleship Guide is to assist the Walkabout Director in all aspects of the Walkabout program. This includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks: develop and maintain relationships with Walkabout students, mentor students one-on-one on a weekly basis, lead multi-day adventure and experiential trips, oversee and enforce Walkabout rules, lead Bible studies, teach Walkabout classes, marketing to guests, oversee Walkabout meals, develop and maintain structures that assist Walkabout community living (chore charts, etc), help with Walkabout training, and anything else necessary for successful program implementation.

Responsibilities included creating an app through SubSplash to distribute the Curriculum and Communicate with Counselors and Campers, writing curriculum age appropriate for campers 6-18 y/o (multiple versions necessary), market the program to parents, campers and counselors, coordinate groups, recruit and train volunteers, weekly reminders to parents and counselors and more.Medical Coordinator:Coordinate day to day operations that pertain to the medical needs of Camp including but not limited to, interviewing, training and overseeing the summer medical staff, overseeing budget and inventory needs for medical training and supplies, regular safety inspections, communicating with parents and sponsors about camper medical needs, coordinate bi-annual training for the full-time WFRs (Wilderness First Responders) on property, coordinate the medical responder's on call weeks throughout the year, respond as necessary to medical situations throughout the year.

Facilitate Group experience for Retreats and School groups that came on property. One day off a week, and the weeks where there were not groups on property, working with other departments on property to prepare for groups (kitchen, housekeeping, projects, grounds, programs, etc).Reading and following a logistics sheet created weekly by supervisors. Logistics include: housekeeping, meal prep, meal cleans, running activities, group development, group arrival prep, special events, check-in's and more.During the Summer, I was assigned the role of Service Team leader. In that role, I was responsible for 7-12 high school students for two weeks at a time. During their stay, the group and I were responsible for all meal cleans at camp (minus the lunch of the day of their arrival each session. Between meal cleans, I sequenced out programing for them, including bible studies, group development and activities to participate in while at camp. After summer,I was once again a facilitator.
