I worked at a equine farm near URI where I learned equine management, as well as learned a significant amount about horse training. I also was able to ride and show during my time at Canterbury. I learned about some basic veterinary procedures that are important for maintaining the health of the horses, as well as proper nutrition.

North Stonington Ct

I helped out mainly in the garden, and learned a lot about farm management, business and the farm techniques. I helped out at farmers markets on a weekly basis, learned about artificial insemination, and dairy farming. I also learned about sampling milk and the importance of butterfat content, and somatic cell counts. In the garden, I learned about proper planting techniques, harvesting, and identifying different vegetable and fruit species.

Brownsville Vermont

I was in charge of completing orders behind the deli, prep, and serving customers. I also stocked shelves and ran the register.

Jamestown Rhode Island

I was a part of a feral cat study that a wildlife biologist started. We studied the relationship between the feral cat population and the coyote population. We tracked cat colonies, set up video cameras, and also identified other wildlife congregating near the cat colonies. As part of our project I was in charge of keeping excel spreadsheets of data, pictures, and counting cat populations and keeping track of any changes in population counts. As a final project we presented our findings to the RI state veterinarian, and a congregation of other veterinarians, and feral cat advocates.

I helped plan volunteer booths on campus, made banners and other crafts for events. I also was a representative for the volunteer office whenever we had booths on campus or for acceptance students day.

Pomfret Vt

I was responsible for teaching individuals about the basics of snowboarding, and giving them an opportunity to learn a fun sport.
