• Assess individual nutrition needs of residents and work with interdisciplinary team to ensure dietary needs are met• Monitor patient nutrient intake and weights and make adjustments to the care plan as they progress• Utilize Point Click Care and Diet Tech Meal Ticket Software to communicate and expedite nutrition care plan• Complete MDS documentation at admission, semi-annually, quarterly, and as needed based on patient condition

This position was an excellent introduction into healthcare, I now know a different side to food production. At Grande'Vie Senior Living community in the food service department, I got a taste of high-volume food production in healthcare establishments. I learned about meal plans and health issues that affect dietary restrictions. This was also my first time in a management position. I guided a team of about 5 people, we had to make sure the hot meal went out in a timely manner three times a day, everyday of the week. This position required me to look ahead to determine what products needed preparing, possibly making pasta salad or chopping up fruit and portioning it for the meal. My job was to make sure everything went smoothly; some days I would be serving the residents, other days I would be making special orders. I had to be familiar and comfortable with all of the positions because I went where ever I was needed.
