Tool Dynamics’ core business is TD, or as we call it, TDX (Thermal Diffusion) tool coating which we have been providing for over 13 years. It is used in industries such as injection molding, metal stamping, roll forming, cold forging, hydroforming, and many more. The purpose of it is to: increase tool life, improve peel resistance, improve part finish, and decrease in wear and galling, and others.TD is a hot coating process that combines carbon from the tool surface with the element Vanadium to grow a Vanadium Carbide layer that is metallurgically bonded to the substrate. This method of thermally diffusing a Vanadium Carbide layer into the surface creates an incredible adhesive bond far stronger than any deposited coating and better adhesion means longer life. Because of the high temperature of the thermal diffusion process, the coating will not chip, peel or spall off the substrate, is extremely durable and will provide excellent protection from both adhesive and abrasive wear. TDX is a layer of super pure, ultra-dense carbide that completely covers your tooling, and is bonded below the surface.We also offer PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coatings such as TiN, TiCN, TiCrN, TiAlN, CrN, DLC and AlCrN along with full or partial duplex of these. Our plant has two vacuum-heat-treat furnaces and numerous tempering furnaces for your heat treat requirements.
