Identified benthic invertebrates for Hawaii state EPA water quality biomonitoring reports and used WQX to upload data to national water quality database. Created budgets and wrote reports, collaborated with other specialists, and instructed employees in laboratory protocol. Used compound and dissecting scopes to identify annelids, crustaceans, and other invertebrates. Ordered lab supplies & equipment repairs as necessary.

Performed six-month survey to determine effect of fucoid algae on estuary. Liased between adviser (absent), research director, and other laboratory staff. Published in Estuaries and Coasts as "Salt Marsh Fucoid Algae: Overlooked Ecosystem Engineers of North Temperate Salt Marshes." Assisted other researchers as necessary in fisheries research.
