CurrentLead on all communications, public relations, and branding:- Oversee and implement the complete design and production of bi-annual newsletters, the annual report, trail guides, and other print communication materials;- Research, design and production of interpretive signage, wayfinding and other communication tools at public parks and preserves; - Write, edit and distribute press releases and work directly with print, web, and radio media outlets for increased public awareness;- Create thought-provoking advertising campaigns to reach a broad audience throughout the region; - Managed website redesign; maintain and create new content including the development of a new mapping tool and app for greater user interaction; - Create and manage email communications to grow digital engagement, and assist with social media;- Design and manage a variety of merchandise sold on site and online to benefit the organization and for special events;- Work with development staff to design and edit fund-raising appeals and capital campaign materials. - Created, launched, and continue to manage the Round the Lake Challenge, a unique challenge to earn a patch and certificate by experiencing the LGLC's parks and preserves, as well as Lake George communities.- Created the Hike-A-Thon in 2013, now a model for other land trusts and organizations seeking to do a similar outreach event; grown to 700 participants, including nearly 100 volunteers, in 6 towns throughout the Lake George watershed. Responsibilities: recruit sponsors; manage website and social media outreach; create brochures, flyers, and advertising; manage registrations and all communications; procure necessary permits and site use applications; recruit and manage volunteers; design merchandise.- Assist other staff with the implementation of major fund-raising and outreach events; volunteer recruitment and supervision; grant writing; and organizing and leading excursions and presentations.
