Responsibilities include: - Performs daily monitoring of media clips, analyzes media coverage, and compiles and distributes media reports for Pew’s senior leadership.- Compiles, drafts and coordinates various other media and institutional reports. These projects may include coordination with the Communications department’s senior leadership.- Assists with research, planning and logistics for institutional public events and internal communications sessions.- Provides support--such as compiling media outreach lists, and conducting messaging, media markets, and other strategic communications research—that benefits Pews’ programmatic efforts.- Helps manage Communications department content on Pew’s intranet site.- Oversees incoming public requests/media inquiries email inboxes.- Provides assistance for a range of special projects as assigned by the Communications Senior Vice President and Director.- Works on other duties as assigned.

At the District Office for Asm. Miguel Santiago, I worked in the field at events such as vaccine clinics and pet wellness days, earning experience representing the Assemblymember, engaging with constituents, and understanding policy issues that impact Los Angeles. I also performed clerical tasks to assist staff on day to day upkeep. Given the large influx of unemployment casework as a result of the pandemic, I also assisted constituents with unemployment issues.

As a managing editor, I oversaw Annenberg Media’s daily digital production, ran news meetings, and encouraged cross-platform participation. I also worked with ATVN and ARN producers to produce daily radio and TV shows. I ran the Monday morning pitch meeting, worked with editors during story production, and facilitated communication across platforms (digital, radio, TV) and desks. Managing editor's also work with the executive editors to achieve Annenberg Media’s digital strategy goals and operate the digital platforms.

As the USC editor, I worked with student journalists to cover the USC community. I focused on publishing stories that served our core audience: USC students. In this role, I came to think critically and creatively with pitches, and support students in their own pitches. I helped run pitch and handover meetings and encouraged collaboration across platforms. I also reported on breaking news stories and projects of my own.

The USC Associates is the premier academic support group on USC’s campus. My job was to support and respond to campus donors, help organize and execute events, and provide office support to my co-workers.

As a news editor, I supported various desks at Annenberg Media in editing and collaboration. Additionally, I focused on Los Angeles, national, and political news. This position introduced me to Annenberg Media and allowed me to explore various interests and passions while learning from student leaders and professional mentors.
