Principal Structural Engineer for the Energy Services Acquisition Program (ESAP), mobilizes and leads a team of structural engineers and technologists (numbering well over 30 professionals at any given) from offices across Canada in the delivery of building structures associated with this project involving the construction and revitalization of new and existing heating and cooling plants and distribution systems within the National Capital Region. These facilities impact over 80 different Government of Canada buildings and are being completed in support of the Government of Canada’s to reduce greenhouse gasses beginning with their own facilities.

Lead designer of notable projects such as: - Learning Centre, University of Ottawa, 2015. 160,000 square foot, six-storey reinforced concrete building housing two auditoriums, classrooms, laboratory spaces and office. Design including marrying existing building with a new structure, involving complex foundation considerations and retaining systems to facilitate the construction of a new basement next to a structure at grade. This expansion to Lamoureux Hall required a detailed seismic investigation and analysis of the existing building prior to design development. - Hawkesbury & District General Hospital Redevelopment, Hawkesbury, Ontario. Involved renovation of the existing hospital, as well as 2 major reinforced concrete wing additions, a structural steel courtyard infill, and smaller structural steel additions around the perimeter of the existing footprint for a total area of 120,000 square feet of new build. Detailed design gave special consideration to user requirements such as vibration sensitive equipment and phasing of construction to ensure the hospital remained operational during during all construction activities.Additional projects include industrial buildings, multi-storey condominiums, retail and institutional buildings. Proficient in detailed design of reinforced concrete and structural steel. Competent in seismic dynamic analysis using finite element software (ETABS).

Project Manager for various building rehabilitation projects including all phases of work from proposal preparation, condition survey and reporting, preparation of tender documents including drawings and specifications, tender assistance and contract administration.

Responsible for the design and structural coordination of the reinforced concrete substructure package for the 2012 Olympic Stadium in London, United Kingdom. Engineering team consisted of 6 structural engineers and 4 technicians for the entire structural design of the stadium. Five months were spent preparing design in off-site office and six months were spent in on-site office continuing design and liaising with subcontractors, architects and client. Acted as lead design engineer for foundations package attending weekly design review meetings with subcontractors and client. Responsibilities included: coordination of structural elements with services, coordination with architects, and detailed design and analysis.

Responsible for the Finite Element Modeling in SCIA ESA PT of 2 residential and commercial buildings. Both the 14 and 8 storey buildings were modeled as a reinforced concrete structures incorporating structural challenges of raking columns and large cantilevers. Effects of wind loading were studied on the structures, as well as the effects of differential settlement.Designed to tender stage a 3 storey masonry apartment building above a below ground car park. Car park basement consists of 300 mm RC retaining wall and RC columns on pad-foundations. Responsible for organizing ground investigations and prepared extensive structural specifications to cover all aspects of demolition and construction.Responsible for the Finite Element Modeling in SCIA ESA PT of 8 storey office building situated over a basement car park. Prepared “Structural Scheme Report” outlining construction method and material options of the 3 proposed buildings in order for Client to make informed decisions on structure type.
