Senior leadership partner with executive director and CFO overseeing the creation and implementation of the organization’s short and long-term strategic plans. Lead analysis, negotiation and formation of strategic multi-year programmatic partnerships such as Sundance Film Festivals in London, Hong Kong and Los Angeles. Serve as main spokesperson for major local media stories and representing the organization in the community. Lead local government relations and lead Utah Advisory Board made up of community, business and government leaders. Direct the Institute’s Utah-based, community-focused programs, outreach, public relations, marketing and messaging. Develop strategic programs and partnerships with local nonprofits. Direct the administrative, business solutions and human resource functions of the organization; and build a strong, dynamic team to support the needs of the Institute. Oversee and set policies and procedures for the operational management of the Institute’s developmental labs in film, film music and theatre. Direct the operational management, and set policies and procedures for the annual Sundance Film Festival.Develop and implement a robust security plan for Sundance Film Festival working closely with local law enforcement, private security contractors, FBI, and Homeland Security. Spearheaded the Institute's ADA accessibility policies and procedures. Manage the Institute’s earned revenue stream, developed additional revenue generating opportunities to diversify revenue streams. Oversee the strategy and implementation of an annual economic impact survey for the festival using metrics to quantify the event’s contribution to the Utah’s economy. Strategically work to optimize box office revenue while improving customer service & audience experience.

Oversee the programming, management and operations of all Sundance Film Festival venues. Directly manage 7 key departments (ticketing, customer service, theatre operations, technical exhibition, production, Festival facilities, safety and security) and their budgets. Ensure the creation of new theatre spaces was done safely, on time, under budget and fully Dolby certified. Work closely with local government officials to ensure both festival goals and community needs are met. Collaborate with Sundance Institute program directors and the development department to ensure creative goals and sponsor expectations were achieved. Other responsibilities included: venue and vendor contract negotiations; recruited, trained and supervised venue managers; set operating policies and procedures for all venues; advised Institute on technical exhibition needs for both festival and long term investments.

Recruit, train and directly manage all volunteer theatre managers. Design and implement training of over 400 theatre volunteers including front-of-house, box office and crowd control staff.Work within established operating procedures and develop new policies necessitated by the growth of the event. Ensure theatre operations department accomplish goals as determined by Festival Director and Managing Director.Solve operational and customer service issues at the theatres during the Festival.

In collaboration with The Preserve Director and Robert Redford create and build a new non-profit organization dedicated to unleashing the transformative power of the arts to inspire positive social change. The Preserve now known as The Redford Center brings together visionary artists with prominent leaders, thinkers and policymakers as a means of creating innovative, solution-based paradigms for a more sustainable future.
