Development Services Department; The Landscape Section is responsible for the review, research, and analysis of ministerial construction permits and discretionary applications for conformance with the City’s Landscape, Brush Management, and Water Conservation Regulations and Standards. In addition, I play an integral role in ensuring developments achieve required tree canopy coverage in fulfillment of goals of the City’s Climate Action Plan. Additional responsibilities include representing the department at public hearings (City Council, Planning Commission, Hearing Officer, etc.) as the subject matter expert, attending meetings, attending field visits, reviewing environmental documents, reports, draft permits and resolutions, and providing general landscape and brush management information to the public.
