I'm Sarah, the Member Recruitment Coordinator at Health360, a non-profit organization overseeing the Healthy Minds Alliance AmeriCorps program.The Healthy Minds Alliance program, operated by Health360 Inc, is dedicated to advancing mental health and addressing the nationwide mental illness crisis. We offer two distinctive program tracks, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis. Additionally, we are actively exploring partnerships with new host sites to expand service opportunities within the program.Track 1: Mental Health Gatekeeper TrainerOur first track takes a community-centered approach to combat the national mental health crisis. We leverage evidence-based programs to educate community members on preventing, detecting, and supporting individuals with mental illnesses. AmeriCorps members commit to a full-time, in-person service term at designated agency host sites across select locations nationwide. Members undergo training as instructors in mental health programs chosen by their host sites, including Mental Health First Aid, QPR, SafeTALK, and other evidence-based programs. They then certify members of the public, strengthening the community's capacity to address local mental health needs.Track 2: Crisis Call CenterIn collaboration with the Public Health AmeriCorps grant, Healthy Minds Alliance seeks AmeriCorps members to serve at crisis call centers across the country. This program expansion aims to provide enhanced support following the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline's transition to the 3-digit number 988. AmeriCorps members receive training in evidence-informed crisis intervention and suicide prevention to offer immediate assistance to individuals utilizing the local crisis call center's suicide prevention calls, texts, and chats. This position is available both in-person at host sites and remotely.In terms of requirements, we seek individuals who are passionate about community service and mental health advocacy. AmeriCorps members receive comprehensive training during their service term. While a bachelor's degree is typically preferred, a high school diploma meets AmeriCorps' basic education requirement.
