I am a Medical Social Worker in the NC Triangle area. I graduated with my MSW from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2018 and completed the LCSW process in 2020. I am an independently motivated team-player, attentive to the needs of diverse populations, and dedicated to a holistic, biopsychosocial approach to encompass the needs of the whole person.While completing my three-semester internship with Duke Hospice Bereavement Services, I provided individual grief counseling and psychoeducation on grief and loss and co-facilitated grief support groups. I also completed a formal evaluation of the spring 2018 Loss of Spouse/Partner grief support group which I presented to faculty and classmates. During my time as a UNC MSW student, I took a number of courses on health theory and policy, treating trauma and violence, differential diagnosis, and treatment modalities including CBT and DBT.Prior to my social work education, I worked for three years as an interfaith chaplain with Carolinas HealthCare System, where I provided emotional and spiritual support to patients, family, and staff at trauma hospitals and rehabilitation facilities in the Charlotte area. As a chaplain, I worked closely with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-centered plans of care and facilitated discussions about the practical and ethical implications of treatment decisions. I also provided education and assistance with the completion of Advance Directives. All of these experiences taught me the importance of addressing clients’ concrete needs while holding space for individuals to make meaning in challenging circumstances.Thank you for viewing my profile!
