Investigator – Domestic Violence and Serious Sexual Offences TeamManaging my own caseload, my duties include investigating crimes, interviewing prisoners, liaising with the Crown Prosecution Service, creating files for court and giving evidence in court. I have an in depth working knowledge of criminal law and police procedures which I apply in this role. My analytical skills and self-motivation are crucial in this investigative role, as are task management, critical thinking and attention to detail. This role also involves strong customer skills interviewing witnesses and safeguarding vulnerable victims of crime. Clear, accurate and concise written skills are essential when preparing files for court.

I have covered long term acting sergeant duties providing leadership to teams managing staff development and performance. I conducted intelligence driven briefing, tasking and debriefing, managed a team of resources, supervised responses to critical incidents, crime scene management and supervised investigations and investigators.Sexual Offences Liaison Officer - This specialist role required me to provide support to the victims of serious sexual offences through the process of evidence gathering and providing an initial account following their report to the police. The role required strong interpersonal skills and a high level of empathy. In this role I provided support to the primary investigating officer and ran the initial collection of forensic evidence. Attention to detail, clear understanding and application of processes and strong interpersonal skills were needed.Football Intelligence Officer - In this specialist role, I was employed to monitor and gather intelligence on high risk football supporters associated with violent and public order offences. This role required a full understanding of the laws and legislation around surveillance and the Regulatory and Investigative Powers Act. I was trained in optical evidence gathering and the preparation of surveillance footage for use in criminal and civil court proceedings.
