I love building and maintaining relationships for Friends of Casco Bay. As Development Director, my core work of strengthening our financial support and growing our membership base comes naturally from my easy way with people, development experience, and deep knowledge of our work. I first joined Friends of Casco Bay in 2011 as a part of our fundraising staff. Most recently, I served as our Community Engagement Coordinator.I fell in love with Maine’s coast while studying marine biology and psychobiology at the University of New England. I strongly believe advocating for science-driven, community-informed decisions creates the best outcomes. - Implements a comprehensive community engagement plan to ensure that Friends of Casco Bay has the community support needed to accomplish its mission.- Engages with and inspires our community to support our work in a variety of forums, including online social networks, email campaigns, events, and through our volunteer programs and projects, including citizen science initiatives, Coastal Cleanups, Storm Drain Stenciling, and other efforts.- Work to build relations and inspire volunteers to act on behalf of the mission through expanding our online presence and through face-to-face interactions with community members.- Helps plan our community events, including our annual Volunteer Celebration and Annual Members Meeting, Film Festival, house parties, and other events.

As Development and Communications Assistant I help implement our development program at Friends of Casco Bay. Friends of Casco Bay is a community-based, marine environmental nonprofit organization that works to improve the health of Casco Bay by being science-based, locally-focused, pragmatic, collaborative, people-centered, and trusted. My primary focus is to maintain the day-to- day operations of the Development Office in collaboration with the Development Director. In addition, I design print and on-line materials and help coordinate event planning and execution.

I'm a certified Courageous Living Coach with a concentration in somatic coaching through the Courageous Living Coach Certification. This program is rooted in a holistic philosophy grounded in supporting clients where they’re at.

Recruit, orient, train, and monitor performance of volunteers to organize events that meet or exceed fundraising goals.Manage and provide leadership to volunteer committees on each event in assigned area to ensure that committee members are fully supported and accomplish tasks required for successful eventDevelop and maintain working relationships with community leaders and organizations to promote MOD message, build support for MOD mission, and maintain volunteer involvement in MOD activities and programs.Prepare and maintain accurate records/data to evaluate cost-effectiveness, profitability, and public awareness of events and/or program activities. This may include preparing income/expense budgets, compilation/analysis of event statistics, evaluation of media coverage, researching and analyzing community fundraising potential versus actual revenues, etc.Work with media to publicize mission/events, and secure local sponsorship for events to heighten public awareness and reach fundraising goalsWith support from volunteers, coordinate all event logistics and event materials to ensure success of events.Develop and implement events to recognize, reward, and motivate successful volunteers.Work with program staff and volunteers to ensure that every event contains program content to enhance the knowledge of the audience and general public regarding the March of Dimes mission, programs, special services and benefits for mothers and babies.

Implemented individualized educational programs (IEP) while ensuring safety and care for children enrolled in the Children’s Unit – a private, special education school for children with disorders in the autism spectrum.Continually recorded data on children’s performance and behavior. Developed individualized materials needed for each goal on a child’s IEP. Maintained organization and cleanliness in the classroom.

Conducted laboratory experiments with Betta Fish using video playback methods. Scored and analyzed data tapes.Trained and supervised younger lab members. Research Published in Ethology and presented at the Eastern Psychological Association’s conference.

Received all incoming books and checked out all outgoing books. Restocked the incoming books on shelves. Scanned documents into computer to be sent through interlibrary loan.

Worked independently entering basic patient information into the computer to prepare the office for conversion from hard copy paper files to electronic files. Organized files and maintained patient confidentiality.
