As Operations Director I am responsible for the overall management and monitoring of the operational performance and compliance of RTC's delivery teams.

Specific objectives of my current role are as follows:•Management of the Central Business Development Function•Design and preparation of key proposals and tenders for large-scale, public funded projects•Analysis of implications and plans for moving towards a new, more commercial business model.•Coordination of divisional business development activity•Contribution to high level strategic development of RTC North•Building and maintaining key external networks of partners and stakeholders•Design and execution of lobbying strategy at local, national and EU level•Contract negotiation and project set up for all new business.As part of my role as business development director I have prepared and submitted over 250 proposals for grant funding to the European Commission, UK Government, Regional Development Agencies, Local Authorities and private sector organisations over the past 14 years. During my time in this role I have also gained the following relevant experience: •Evaluating EU funding proposals for the European Commission•Preparation and submission of successful design, innovation and R&D Proposals •Extensive knowledge of the local economy, strategic sectors and LEP priorities•Extensive Knowledge of national and European funding schemes including ERDF post 2014 and Horizon 2020•Extensive network of contacts regionally, nationally and across the EU including industry, universities and HEIs, Local Enterprise Partnerships, BIS, EC officials, MEPs and government agencies.

During my time in this position I assumed overall management responsibility for projects involving European research and technology networks and the exploitation of EU funded R&D. This required a detailed understanding of regional and European policy on innovation, science and technology and an awareness of the constantly changing scientific environment.Liaising and negotiating with all regional, national and European decision makers is an integral requirement of this position as is the ability to anticipate the requirements of the regions’ local enterprises and to effectively match these needs with complementary partners across Europe.

The main purpose of this job was to ensure the most efficient regulatory clearance for the Company’s medical products and clinical trials across the European Union.This involved an in depth knowledge of the ever changing European Guidelines and Commission Directives in order to prepare Regulatory documentation to be submitted to European Regulatory Agencies. It also involved the precise coordination of the various departments preparing technical reports in order to finalise one package that meets not only the European Guidelines but the National requirements of the EU Member States.Registration ExecutiveWithin the Department of Post-Licensing Support and Development my job was to provide support to the Company’s existing business. This involved the maintenance of Product Licences and the preparation of data to support line extensions for existing products
