As a bookkeeper at Flexible Accounting and Tax Services, my duties include full-cycle accounting tasks including journalizing transactions, posting to the ledger, preparing trial balances, posting adjusting and closing entries as well as preparing financial statements for clients. Using both Excel and Sage50 accounting software, I create and manage corporate client accounts. Duties include accounts payable and receivables, payroll, bank reconciliations, assigning tax codes, tracking GST/HST, and creating financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, client-aged as well as overdue receivable reports. I set up, input and manage inventory purchases and sales for clients and link accounts. I also manage sales returns, refunds and credits.I complete Record of Employment (ROE) filings as well as prepare T4 slips for corporate clients. I track and classify client expenses and depreciation on both Sage50 and Excel according to their monthly or quarterly deadlines. I also reconcile Canadian and foreign currency bank and credit card statements.
