In May 2015, I graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Biotechnology. Growing up in a small community knitted together with agriculture, my work ethic established the foundation for my successes. While at the University of Kentucky, I was extensively trained in the areas of cellular and molecular biology and utilized these skills as an undergraduate researcher at the Markey Cancer Center studying melanoma. While attending UK, I was also afforded the opportunity to hone in on my communication and networking skills by joining the Foresight Pre-Optometry Club, where I was elected President. Currently, I am 2019 Doctorate of Optometry candidate at Southern College of Optometry. My ultimate goal is to someday reside in rural Kentucky and provide quality eye care and serve as a mentor to students in local schools to help them reach their goals.
