By moving alone to the US from a tiny city in Finland, I learned to be self-responsible, adaptive, and brave. I've learned to create my community in a culture that used to be completely unknown to me in a language that I didn't quite master.As an athlete, I've got a habit of continuously evaluating my progress, setting realistic yet ambitious goals, and working towards them determinedly. So far I've got to represent Finland in international championships in hammer throw and I've earned All-American honors while competing in the NCAA. I'm not afraid of taking risks to get closer to my dreams but I tend to keep a feet-on-the-ground -mindset. Bringing together studying and a goal-oriented sport has taught me time management skills and self-discipline. Academically I'm working toward a bachelor's degree in public relations with a minor in organizational leadership and a master's degree in reputation management in an accelerated program. I am extremely passionate about creating social change and I firmly believe that ambitious people working in PR can initiate it.Always looking forward to expanding my network!
