Sara Patterson has been performing on stage since she was 3 years old, starting off by acting, dancing and singing in school and community shows. After serving as her high school Drama Club President, serving on The Teen Board at the Fine Arts Institute of Edmond (OK) and winning numerous awards, including an Oklahoma State Championship qualifying medal, in Speech & Debate competitions, Sara attended AMDA College of the Performing Arts with the generous support of scholarships from The Oneonta Club, The Kiwanis Club, The P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter AX, and The Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce. Sara studied acting, stage combat, voice production, and dance at AMDA, where she performed in METAMORPHOSES (Scientist/Therapist/Mother), THE WAY OF THE WORLD (Mrs. Marwood), A PIECE OF MY HEART (Martha), THAT'S SKETCHY: SKETCH COMEDY (Ensemble), as well as writing and performing her own stand up comedy in LAUGH OR GET OUT. Upon graduating from AMDA with honors, Sara became a company member at Santa Monica Repertory Theatre, performing in A CHRISTMAS CAROL (Fan) and THE FOREIGNER (Catherine) as well as numerous staged readings, such as THE REVOLUTIONISTS (Charlotte Corday) and RAPTURE, BLISTER, BURN (Avery) to name a few. Sara served as Company Membership and Casting Coordinator for SMRT, assisting with the casting of their first annual play reading festival which focused on female artists. A lover of performance education, Sara was honored to portray Mrs. Little in Sierra Madre Playhouse's production of STUART LITTLE, which captivated elementary school field trip audiences for weeks and included a post-show discussion led by Sara to help reinforce theatre conventions and vocabulary. Sara can be seen in a number of short films, including THE PARTY and AUDREY, as well as RUSS AND DRU and PLAY ME LIKE THAT.Special skills and interests include: dance & dance fitness, dialects and accents, classical texts, modern adaptations of historical classics and strong female leads.
