Part of the category team, as the Planner works within the overall guidelines set by the merchandiser to manage the activity required at line level to generate forecast, intake, and allocate product. Using the Manugistics tool produce Intake & Sales forecasts for suppliers in order to meet sales forecast for both branded and own branded products to required time-scales. Generate Intake of stock into the business within agreed stock targets and distribution capacity constraints. Control allocation and grading systems to meet availability targets, stock aims, and ensure merchandising can be executed to meet chain display requirements. Manages the weekly exceptions and variances of stock and sales forecasts, changing forecasts to generate revised requirements and amending allocation parameters as neededMonitor and report on variances to overall stock levels, supplier delivery performance, O.T.I.F, and distribution capacity. Attends regular meetings with Buying / Marketing to ensure efficient communication during promotional periods. Regular liaison with both Supply Chain and Inventory Planning. Build close relationships with supplier counterparts to ensure a continuity of supply and to minimise failed deliveries through an effective management of progress chasing. Work with the Merchandiser to identify overstock/understocks & where action is most needed, particularly for aged, EOL & Clearance stocks.
