Sangeeta Prasad, ATR, with over 20 years of experience working in the United States of America and India. She has worked with children and adults with serious mental illness. She helped create a summer abroad program for the George Washington University, Washington, DC to give institutions in India an opportunity to use art therapy. She has presented in both countries. Through her work, she hopes to bridge the information gap between countries that have already established art therapy programs and those in which art therapy is beginning to take root. Sangeeta self-published her first book, Creative Expressions: Say it with Art, to introduce the concepts of art education and art therapy to parents, teachers and counselors. Her second book Using Art Therapy with Diverse Populations,Crossing Cultures and Abilities, is co-edited with Paula Howie and Jennie Kristel, highlights how art therapy is used with many different populations and in varied settings. She hopes to inspire others about art therapy through her art, writings, teachings and her work with the Prasad Family Foundation and Bambino Educational Trust.
