I worked primarily on the service responsible for serving almost all image URLs for Netflix, which is one of the largest services at Netflix and serves peaks of over 20 million images per second. This service includes personalization (deciding which images to show different users), image availability scheduling, dynamic image composition (like adding top 10 or new episodes badges) and more, with strict latency requirements.I also worked on the application infrastructure for all asset selection personalization, which includes deciding which images, supplemental videos (like trailers) and text assets (like synopsis) are best for each user. I was the primary application engineer during the development of the project and the first few years after launch, partnering with algorithm engineers, data engineers and many other cross functional teams. Worked on various platform/middleware features, libraries and web services for Kindle and Fire OS (which powers Kindle Fire, Fire TV and Fire Phone), including Amazon Device Messaging, Fire OS backup and restore and an internal communication platform.* Integrated with Android system services and extended AOSP for compatibility with existing Android APIs for backup and restore.* Led backup and restore web service redesign which led to much greater scalability.* Worked with many teams to help them integrate with backup and restore.* Refactored Amazon Device Messaging client multi-user support, removing lots of potential for error and increasing platform compatibility.* Greatly improved Amazon Device Messaging weekly metrics reports leading to monitoring improvements and much greater awareness of service usage patterns.* Improved build/release automation and processes.* Other confidential feature work.

Worked on ASC Contracts, an enterprise web application for contract/document lifecycle management. Main languages used were Java, XSLT, SQL and JavaScript.Was one of the main developers from prototyping to release of the first application for one of the company's largest customers, which was a success and led to future business.Examples of feature work included development of saved searches and reports, PDF/word document generation, SOAP web service integration and import/export of documents.

Worked part time on porting an application from FirstClass to .NET. Included writing database interactions, business logic and creating custom controls and page layouts.
