I have over 20 years experience in supervision in a variety of positions from restaurant and motel office manager, bank teller manager to my current position as Assistant Director for a public library. In addition, I have almost 30 years experience with a focus on commitment to excellence in customer service. Since discovering my passion for the information profession, I have helped folks find fascinating reads, figure out how to work their mobile devices, decide on colleges and file the necessary forms as well as build websites for start-up businesses. My day runs the gamut from returning a set of hearing aids left behind on a bench by looking up the manufacturer and locating the owner using the serial number and passing along a message regarding their location via the manufacturer to the point of sales location to helping someone figure out what kind of snakes or spiders have taken up residence in a neighbor's back yard. Information is interesting, yet it can be overwhelming to navigate solo. In past professions I have been as passionate about service whether it was choosing of donuts with early commuters in a Lansing area Quality Dairy, working with accounts for a small Wisconsin bank or waiting tables in Hot Springs, South Dakota. My work has always been firmly grounded in a obtaining a true sense of satisfaction by providing quality service and connecting with people where they are. I believe that basic sense of making connections has not changed for me no matter my chosen profession. Today I connect people with information of all varieties.My primary service delivery method for the past ten years has been in the public library setting. My work in a thriving but small public library has given me the opportunity to wear a variety of hats and through my work I have gained experience in many areas.
