Research and development in parallel and distributed streaming systems, with a focus on the intersection of performance and programmability:• Led development and designed features in IBM Streams that enabled programmers to express and control parallelism and performance in their programs.• Designed, implemented, tested and documented features in IBM Streams which required changes to the language, compiler, runtime, networking and platform management.• Coordinated across IBM Streams development teams as Team Lead for language and runtime.• Collaborated on research prototype which replaced the IBM Streams bespoke platform with Kubernetes. This effort eliminated 75% of the platform code and exposed Streams concepts natively to Kubernetes.• Presented current and future product plans and ongoing research to customers and external community.• Published and presented research on streaming systems and algorithms in peer reviewed computer science conferences and journals.
