Chinchilla Research & Demonstration FacilityLinc Energy is the world leader in Underground Coal Gasification. The Chinchilla Facility incorporates UCG with Gas to Liquids technologies with the purpose of developing a commercial 6000 B/Day refinery in Australia. Employed on a 7/7 roster as the single I/E/C Technician during my week on.Duties include:24-hour system support.Perform statutory, preventative and breakdown maintenance across the facility. Interpretation, monitoring and modification of the control systems.Calibration of site instrumentation equipment.Data entry into the CMMS.Development of Scheduled Tasks & reports within the CMMS.Maintain E/I stores and consumables.Maintain Hazardous Area Dossier.Development of Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions for all routine tasks.Manage assigned minor projects.Support the Operations Team to achieve key milestones.Assist in mechanical maintenance where required.Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and operations.

Gove Process Control is responsible for all programmable control systems on site. The refinery consists of two 15 000 tag ABB Bailey systems and a 10 000 tag Emerson DeltaV system along with all associated equipment. Directly responsible for the Milling, Low Temperature Digestion and Disposal processes. Lead on de-bottlenecking projects in the Hydrate area of the refinery.Duties include:24-hour system support.Instigating process improvements within my defined area of responsibility.Developing system documentation including site procedure manuals and functional descriptions/specifications.Modifications to controller software, HMI databases and graphics.CHAZOP/HAZOP & Risk Review Leader for new and existing installations.Participation in HAZOP, CHAZOP studies and Risk Reviews on new and existing installations.Control Systems Team Leader role in capital expenditure projects.Training of section staff.Facilitating Risk Reviews on developed process modifications.Major achievements:Ongoing tuning and modifications to the molar ratio advanced control code to allow for 'More tonnes and less cost'.Lead on de-bottlenecking projects in the Hydrate area of the refinery

Directly responsible for the Milling, Low Temperature Digestion and Disposal processes.Duties include:24-hour system support.Instigating process improvements within my defined area of responsibility.Writing system documentation including site procedure manuals and functional descriptions/specifications.Modifications to both controller software and HMI database and graphics.Control Systems Team Leader role in capital expenditure projects.Training of section staff and Maintenance Tradesmen.Issuing I/O allocations.Commissioning to a strict schedule.Major achievements:High level of involvement with the refinery expansion project. (us$4B)Substantial modifications to the molar ratio advanced control code to allow integration with the expanded refinery.Development and ongoing support of electronic work flow tools within Lotus Notes and then Outlook 2003/7 for Control Change Management, Process Improvements, Alarm Register and Calculation Register.CHAZOP/HAZOP Leader for new and existing installations.

This position was leading hand 'on the tools' reporting to the area inst/elect coordinator. Four tradesmen and up to three apprentices reported to me at any one time. Rostered on a continuous shift roster with the job role primarily first call Instrument/Electrical breakdowns in all areas of the power station and alumina refinery

Indentured as an apprentice Instrument Fitter for a 2-year period whilst employed as an electrical fitter/mechanic.

Indentured as an apprentice electrical fitter/mechanic for a 3 ½ year period.
