Working for private and public institutions as well as an independent consultant has allowed him to gain a solid theoretical basis of ecological processes, natural resource use, protected areas management, and permitting processes. Extensive field experience with the hands-on aspects of ecological restoration, invasive species management, wetland delineation, forest inventories, plant propogation, and native seed collection has tempered that understanding. As a Peace Corps Volunteer Scott has also overcome difficult cultural and language barriers to resolve experience in moderating complex natural resource use issues.
