I lead the scale-up and development activity for a Cambridge based start-up focusing on novel energy storage systems.

The Nanotechnologies group in AIXTRON Ltd. focus on bringing nanocarbon materials to industry at scale. My role focused on the process development for large scale produciton tools and applicaiton scouting for the resulting material.

As a Product Development Engineer at Cametics, an SME, I am involved in a range of projects which aim to utilise nanomaterials for a specific novel application. My technical focus is on nanocarbon polymer composites, in particular coatings and adhesives.

I formulated and synthesised a range of polyurethane adhesives for use by many global customers on a 0.5 – 50 Kg scale. Additionally I designed several bespoke products to meet customer demands and I regularly performed a range of testing as to investigate any issues clients may have with current products. I also created concise reports as to display the data from experimental results, and I presented them to the involved parties.

As part of my masters research I synthesized a range of metallo-cryptophane structures within the Prof. Hardie group. The resulting supramolecular architecture were then characterized by a range of spectroscopic techniques, and their molecular hosting capability was also studied, by use of the use of crystallographic techniques. The results of this work, in conjunction with other members of the team, were/are published in the Journal of American Chemical Society, With the title:"Metallo-cryptophanes decorated with bis-N-heterocyclic carbene ligands: self-assembly and guest uptake into a non-porous crystalline lattice"
