In my current position, I provide leadership program management and facilitated leadership and supervisory courses to over 6,000 civilian and military members of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). Agency leadership programs advance the Combat Support Agency mission to provide, operate, and assure command and control capabilities through a globally accessible enterprise information infrastructure in direct support to joint warfighters, national level leaders, and other coalition partners.

Served as the senior academic instructor and subject matter expert providing specialized academic and field instruction for high risk Department of Defense personnel participating in sensitive national level programs directed by the Joint Chiefs of Staff. My duties included, but were not limited to; senior lead instructor for academic training courses, leading instructor training development programs and academic certification, curriculum development, authoring program specific instructional policies, conducting demonstration-performance training and classroom academics, evaluating student performance, providing feedback and remediating student performance, conducting off-site training operations, administering critiques, collecting data to identify and eliminate negative trends, leading field training exercises, conducting group and individual debriefs, leading research and development programs, and performing technical research. My duties also included utilizing software programs and compiling direct observation data to analyze, evaluate, provide feedback and assess students’ knowledge and ability to employ the program strategies in a simulated environment. Additional duties included completion of operational risk management matrices and briefing senior leadership concerning weekly training activities to identify potential safety concerns, mitigate risk, and ensure student and instructor safety.

As Fuels Superintendent, I coordinated and directed major logistics operations to provide aviation fuel to 54 large frame aircraft in support of national defense objectives. I led 104 support personnel and supervised six senior staff members. I established formal performance expectations, evaluated employee performance, wrote performance reports, and effected disciplinary measures as required. My duties included, but were not limited to; project and construction management; maintenance of petroleum and alternative fuels and cryogenic facilities and equipment; receipt, storage and issue of petroleum and cryogenics products; supervising quality analysis of fuels and cryogenics products; overseeing in-depth maintenance program on specialized vehicles and equipment dispensing facilities; programming effective utilization of personnel; inspecting facilities and contract projects for compliance with specifications and safety standards; and directing activities of fixed facilities and mobile equipment. I developed and implemented system operating instructions, checklists, and contingency support plans and reviewed daily personnel and equipment status reports. I also provided guidance and supervision for facility maintenance, construction and repair projects. I drafted the initial budgetary request and provided inputs on the design proposal to ensure completion of a 5.3 million dollar bulk fuel tank farm and garnered $74,000 in design funds to complete the initial design phase of a fuel offloading facility. I also coordinated with contractors to replace and upgrade an inoperative electrical control panel critical to meeting aircraft fuel requirements. To foster compliance and certification with all state and federal regulations, I guided EPA inspectors during a comprehensive on-site facilities inspection and records evaluation.The results were zero negative findings and organizational recognition as 2006 Washington State Thomas White Environmental Quality Award recipients.

As the principle advisor to the Wing Commander for officer and enlisted retention and retraining program, I managed the Career Assistance Advisor office in support of retention and recruiting programs and initiatives for over 7,500 military members and their families. I developed, supervised, marketed, and managed all career progression, pay, and benefits programs related to force retention. I also conducted one-on-one interviews and public speaking sessions to determine factors that influence career decisions, prepared and distributed information to individuals in one-on-one and group settings contemplating career decisions, maintained case files, analyzed retention data, and maintained historical files to determine and reverse negative retention trends.
