Focusing on customer service by providing knowledge in the electrical and lighting department. Uscg Station Bodega Bay

Facilitated Team Coordination Training (TCT) and Boatswain Mate skills training that included seamanship, knot tying, engineering and navigation and plotting of the swell boat. Oversaw training, evaluations, check rides and oral boards for 30 personnel. Ensured all team members were trained in various levels of certification on the station assets including communications watch stander. ­ ☑ Mentored and coached all unit personnel; provided training that produced 2 USCG Surfmen during tenure.­☑ Acted as Surfman in all surf and meteorological conditions during underway missions such as search and rescue, recovery and emergency response operations.☑ Partnered with federal and local law enforcement officials as boarding officer in many maritime missions.

National Motor Lifeboat School

Hand-selected for the privilege to teach an average of 100 annual students at the National Motor Lifeboat School. Taught boat operations in all water and weather conditions to students including Mexican, Irish and Canadian naval operators. Taught 47-foot Motor Lifeboat Introduction course, Heavy Weather course and elite Surfman course using classroom instruction that integrated various forms of digital media and coaching students underway in different levels of weather conditions.☑ Participated in complete curriculum revision; identified requirements for the 47 MLB operator certification and assisted with updating course curriculum, handouts, PowerPoint and assessments.­ ☑ Played key role in writing USCG recommended standard operational instructions as a 47 MLB subject matter expert. These instructions were used to train and certify operators across the Coast Guard.­ ☑ Launched the Mexican Navy officer training course. Taught 9 officers in the classroom and certified 3 students to operate in surf conditions while underway.
