I supported this start up business in a wide ranging and very fluid role. I established its internal policies and procedures (commercial, HR, HSE etc), achieving CE certification for sale of its product range in the European Union. Following a downturn in the oil and gas markets, Tees Alliance Group re-focussed its business into the renewables sector, successfully negotiating a grant, debt and equity MBO package totalling £20m which enabled the company to develop a semi-automated tubular production facility for the fabrication of large diameter monopile and transition piece foundation sets for offshore wind farms; the first of its kind in the UK. Post-MBO I remained part of the senior management team that delivered the first UK contract for the fabrication of monopolies and transition pieces on behalf of E.ON's Humber Gateway project, responsible for the day to day legal, commercial and contract management aspects of the business.I remained Company Secretary throughout.I was also head of HR, successfully managing 150+ employers, negotiating a Company Handbook and Union agreement with the workforce and its representative union. I joined the Tees Alliance Group at an exciting time. The company was in the process of negotiating a $300m contract for the fabrication of two semi-submersible drilling rigs destined for the Gulf of Mexico, the largest maritime contract of the previous 50 years. In addition, the company was negotiating the purchase of the Haverton Hill Shipyard from the government body that owned it. In addition, the company was negotiating the purchase of the Haverton Hill Shipyard from the government body that owned it. The contract was successfully finalised and executed in July 2007, with the purchase of the shipyard following in March 2008. In my role as director and company secretary of the company and its subsidiaries, I advised the board of directors on its duties and responsibilities as well as the day to day administrative tasks of a company secretary. As a key member of the senior management team I was responsible for the day to day commercial and contract management aspects of the business, especially focussed on the construction project with the client, third parties and a multitude of sub-contractors and suppliers.
