I am a lifelong learner, eager to consistently use relational and emotional intelligence, with sound problem-solving skills, to improve team connections and organizational outcomes. As the Education Department manager at Seattle Children's Hospital, I am proud of the ways I've led our team to pursue innovation, equity, and excellence in providing the highest quality care within the social determinant of health. In my 7-year tenure, we have doubled the size of our teaching staff, driven an average year-over-year increase in student participation of 12%, successfully collaborated with the state legislature to increase our budget by 30%, and introduced a standardized educational risk assessment tool to improve our ability to target our intervention to each student's individual needs.Our improvement initiatives have led us to present at lean methodology conferences here in Washington State, as well as nationally in Washington DC, and peer pediatric institutions routinely seek us out as thought partners as they engage in their own program development.Most recently my span of control was increased to also supervise our play services. This team facilitates child-directed across 4 different hospital campuses. Our team coordinates daily events and activities in our playrooms, provides individualized play sessions at the bedside, and coordinates all in-kind donations that the hospital receives. These donations are then used to support the reach of play services through toy deliveries to patients who need distraction during their hospital stay.I am so very proud of all that my teams accomplish daily, and I'm so thankful to be in position to provide effective leadership in their daily work.
