CaregivingCreative Consulting And Coaching Jan 2020 - Jun 2024My mother has a degenerative disease called Post Polio Syndrome. She's had mobility issues since the age of 17 months old. Just before the pandemic got started... She fully lost mobility in her lower extremities. I moved her into my home and provide in-home care while working remotely in the time that I have left in the day, & night where needed. Lucky to have the extra room in the house, & to have her near to take care of. It does limit my travel options and commuting for a regular work commitment. Family is the most important thing! She now works as CFO of CCC (She relaxes!)Not many people care or consider how much time it takes to feed, bath, & care for a person that can barely move. I'm grateful to able to care for her, as she did for me, but it does hurt my ability to work onsite anywhere, because of the variation and flexibility of her needs.My father passed away when I was 7 years old, I owe him this, so I never waver. My mom is awesome, and family values are way more important than the corporate values that lay people off for profit. Family first, and #lovemore. -
