• Was responsible for Data Center Planning & Management- Equipment Specifications, Capacity Planning & Physical Resources for build-out of 2 Data Centers on Corporate HQ Campus – with near full redundancy of Rackmount & Blade Servers, Server Virtualization, Enterprise Computer Networking, Private & Internet WAN Access, Enterprise Data Storage, Fiber Channel Networking, IP Telephony (VoIP), etc.• Performed expert installation, configuration, management and maintenance (updates/upgrades) of these Servers, Enterprise Computer Networking, Enterprise Data Storage, and Enterprise Data Protection (LUN Mirroring & Failover, Backup/Restore, Recovery).• Advanced expertise in VMware Server Virtualization (ESXi, Vmotion, S-Vmotion, vCPUs, vRAM); Enterprise Computer Networking (VLANs, LACP, VoIP, DSCP, QoS, etc.); Storage Area Network Configuration & Administration (Fibre-Channel, Block Storage, LUN Mgmt. - Zoning, Masking & Expansion, Mirroring); Microsoft Active Directory Advanced Configuration (Domain Trusts); etc.• Expanded Corporate computer networking to a 9-node redundant Enterprise Backbone/Core network using HP/3Com A5800 Series Switches (10/20 Gbps) between our Data Centers.• Installed, configured, managed, and maintained (updates/upgrades) other Networking equipment and services – specifically Aruba Enterprise Wi-Fi Wireless Access Points, AdTran Point-to-Point WAN, redundant Cisco Internet Routers, PaloAlto Next Gen Firewall (NGFW) Firewall, ShoreTel (VoIP) Telephony, Cisco MDS Fiber Channel Networking, EMC VNX 5300 & XIOtech Storage Area Networks, NetApp NAS (limited), EMC Recover Point, CommVault & Veeam Enterprise Backup.• Implemented the first official integration of networks and network services between Corporate HQ and a distant Corporate site (Novus Biological, Littleton, CO) via the creation of a Microsoft Active Directory Forest Domain Trust between these 2 sites.

• Implemented next-generation Intel-based (microprocessor) rackmount and tower Servers (first Compaq, then HP DL & ML 36x/38x Series), to replace (upgrade) existing servers to significantly increase processing capabilities and data storage capacities. Many of these new Servers were used to implement new services such as Microsoft Domain Controllers, Active Directory (Users & Computers, etc.), DNS/DHCP, Group Policies, MS SQL Server, Terminal Services/Remote Desktop, Citrix Presentation Server/XenApp, etc. Microsoft Server OS initially was Windows Server 2000, then Windows Server 2003. Migration of non-Windows OS went from SCO Unix to Red Hat Linux.• Upgraded Networking equipment to High-speed Ethernet Switches (HP ProCurve 5300xl/5400zl Series – 10/100/1000 Mbps).• Implemented and administered the first on-premises Data Storage Platform, Xiotech’s Magnitude Storage Area Network (SAN) in conjunction with Fiber Channel switches (Cisco MDS) and new servers with QLogic QLA2x00 Series HBAs with boot from SAN capabilities. These new technologies dramatically increased flexibility and data storage capacity.• Implemented Tape Library under ArcServe to accommodate automated continuation of server backups to more than one Tape and to facilitate over-the-network backup of other Servers via the use of installed Backup Agents/Clients.

• Performed setup of new networked PC workstations (Intel - 80486 DX through Pentium IV) and network printers for employees, including the installation and configuration of Desktop Software such as Novell Network Client, Microsoft Office, Print Drivers for Network Printers, Email (first Beyond Mail, then Novell Groupwise), Terminal Emulation, Web Browser, Desktop Database, etc. Desktop OS went from Microsoft Windows 3.11 (over MS-DOS 3.x) through Windows 95/98 during this time period. • Performed setup of User Accounts, Groups and File Permissions on Novell Netware File Servers.• Provided basic PC Software Training which included the use of Network File Servers.• Implemented and provided Help Desk Support for user PC questions or problems. Used BMC’s TrackIt! Help Desk Ticketing Software to track and document these problems. Used WinVNC for remote support to improve Help Desk response time.• Upgraded Networking equipment from Tri-segment Hubs to Fast Ethernet Switches (HP ProCurve 4000M – 10/100 Mbps)• Assumed responsibility for backup/restore of Novell Netware File Servers, using Cheyenne (Computer Assoc.) ArcServe.

• Collaborated with Corporate IT Stakeholders & Industry Partners to research and identify next generation solutions for Promotion Fulfillment/Rebates using State-of-the-Art Microprocessor Systems & Technology.• Under direction from Vice President of Information Services, we (Stakeholder Team) selected, installed, and implemented a high-speed continuous form Rebate Check laser printing system which allowed for check-by-check customization of Rebate Sponsor Logo, Bank Routing/Account Nos., and rebate customer information. Print Spooling of single-piece mailer Rebate Checks was performed by PC-based Microprocessor hardware and software from electronic data file(s) transferred to the PC. Checks were printed with MICR Laser Toner on large-scale Siemens Printer used by Financial Industries. This solution allowed Young America Corporation to bring rebate check processing in-house, which significantly reduced promotion processing time & fulfillment cost and improved turn-around time of mailing rebate checks to consumers.

• Supported end-users of and performed software updates for multiple IBM 8100 Information Systems (a multi-user Mid-range mainframe type computer) that was used for word-processing by administrative and secretarial staff of the Hospitals and Clinics. Word-processing system for this system was named Distributed Office Support Facility (DOSF), running under IBM DPCX Operating System.• Implemented and supported IBM Distributed Office Support System (DISOSS) on IBM Mainframe to extend electronic library storage, retrieval and distribution of word-processing documents created by users. Wrote DISOSS Queries to create various reports so that users could see information about word-processing documents stored on DISOSS which were owned by them.• Implemented and supported IBM AS/400 next-generation multi-user mid-range computer platform, as a pilot to test new or migrated mainframe applications and databases on a limited basis.
