Knowledge and skill of Voluntary Service operations to assist in the development, coordination, recruitment, management, and evaluation of a volunteer program. Develops plans and procedures for recruitment and placement of (approximately 1800) volunteers in collaboration with Voluntary Service Chief. Responsible for developing short and long range goals for the accomplishments of Voluntary Service programs; along with implementation of new and existing programs. Conducts appraisals of assignments with volunteers and concerned staff for effectiveness and proper utilization (i.e. volunteer satisfaction survey). Provide supervision to all volunteers in all aspects of their jobs. . Possess good communication skills to conduct public speaking engagements, which could involve large audiences of special interest groups regarding needs of the facility, recruitment of volunteers, facility updates, acceptance of donations during special presentations, and/or service organization’s events where diverse subject matters could be complex or controversial with possible disgruntled Veterans. Skill in managing, planning, and execution of a variety of complex internal and external special events such as volunteer recognition, national salute to veteran patients, Veterans Day events, welcome home celebrations, recruitment fairs, tours, training and volunteer orientations, and other programs which are directly related to Voluntary Service. Serve as lead coordinator of annual events. Serves as purchase card holder and complies with all the acquisition regulations; making necessary purchases not exceeding $3,000, reconciles purchase card charges within the established time limits, as well as assuring that invoices are accurate all items received, and paid in a timely manner.
